How does Tamoxifen Citrate work?

Estrogen enters various normal cells in the body (including those in the breasts) where it signals growth and multiplication. Breast cancer accelerates this cell growth. Tamoxifen Citrate is an anti-estrogen, which binds itself to the nucleus of the breast cancer cells and prevents or slows down their growth.
